Privacy Policy
1. The short version
Your files stay on your machine. We hold a catalogue describing them, your email address, and your billing status. We do not sell any of it, and we do not use your data to train models.
2. What we collect, exactly
Account: your email address, and the sign-in links and sessions that go with it.
Catalogue, from the agent: for each drive you scan and sync — a label, a volume fingerprint, total and free space; and for the files on it, names, paths, sizes, modification times, file types, and content hashes. Counts and totals derived from those.
Activity: which computers are linked, when scans ran, what cleanups were authorized and carried out, and how much of your plan's allowances you have used.
Billing: your subscription status and plan. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.
Website: ordinary analytics about pages viewed. Not linked to the contents of your drives.
3. What we never collect
The contents of your files. There is no code path in the agent that sends a file's bytes to us, and no feature that would use them.
We do not read, preview, or index the inside of your documents, photographs, videos or archives.
4. Why we hold it
To show you your own drives and what is on them — the catalogue is the product. To decide whether an action is within your plan. To bill correctly and to be able to explain a charge afterwards. To send you the account emails described in your dashboard. To keep the service secure and working.
We do not use your catalogue to train machine-learning models, and we do not sell or rent it.
5. Who else sees it
Service providers who make the product work, each under contract and only for that purpose: our hosting and database provider, our email provider, and Stripe for payments. Where a function uses an AI model to classify files, only the metadata described above is sent — never file contents — and providers are contractually barred from training on it.
We disclose data if the law requires it. We will tell you when we are permitted to.
6. How long we keep it
Catalogues, for as long as your account exists, because that is what makes an unplugged drive searchable. Delete a drive from your dashboard and its catalogue goes with it.
Delete your account and we remove your catalogues, your devices, your activity and your email address. De-identified billing records remain, as described in the Terms.
Migration workspaces are deleted on request, and by default within 30 days of a completed job.
7. Your rights
You can access, export, correct or delete your data from your dashboard, or by writing to justin@jackedtrade.com. Depending on where you live you may have further rights — to object to processing, to restrict it, or to complain to a regulator. Ask and we will help you exercise them.
Jacked Trade LLC is the controller of the data described here. For migration functions we act as a processor on your instructions; see the Data Processing Addendum.
8. Children
SiftDrive is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
